Bob Schneider and Lonelyland at the Saxon Pub

Just caught the man for his Monday variety show at the Saxon Pub. Bob was energized and well-coiffed, and welcomed the audience for a rollicking tour of his wondrous mind and gigantic heart.

Lonelyland followed Bob’s every move with equal parts precision, joy and fear. During a blood-curdling performance of “Murder“, Ollie Steck and his accordion began to levitate but were saved from eternal orbit by the sturdy Saxon rafters. Bruce Hughes migrated from bemused to stunned, but never missed a note on bass.

Late in the show, Bob suffered a minor groin injury during an attempted Eddie Valen karate kick (shown), but was quickly loaded into a waiting minivan for transport to the suburban paradise he calls home.

All in all, another excellent Monday night at the Saxon.
